How hiring works

  1. Start with an event. We host it, you show up, the right people are in the room.
  2. Tell us who you're looking for. Role, stage, skill set. We do the matching, not a keyword search.
  3. Receive a short list. 3 to 5 pre-qualified names, warm intros. You take it from there.
  4. Pay on results. Placement fee triggered only when someone joins your team.

Placement fees

Applies to both Corporate Membership and Partner Sponsorship tracks.

Professional hire — 10% of first-year base salary

Invoiced 50% on start date, 50% at 60 days.

Student / co-op hire — $350 flat fee

Invoiced on start date.

No retainer. No recruiter percentage on junior hires.

For executive and senior roles, we recommend working with one of our partners who specializes in Waterloo-connected talent.

Why this isn't the co-op system

The co-op system requires you to post 3 months early, returns 300+ identical-looking resumes, grades and keywords with no signal on who actually builds, and locks you out of the best candidates by week 6.
